DESCRIPTION

The Knox Storz Lock^® protects large diameter Fire Department connections (FDC) from accidental damage, vandalism and physical attack. Since the locking cap holds water pressure, it can be installed on hydrants. Available in 4" and 5" configurations, the Knox Storz Lock is operated with a Knox FDC Wrench controlled by the Fire Department.

To ensure the Knox Storz Lock properly fits, the Knox Company strongly encourages the use of connections that meet the adapter specifications.

ADAPTERS INSTALLATION

The Knox Storz Lock Adapters have a hard anodized aluminum metal face and are available in both 4" and 5" configurations. These forged adapters are available in straight or 30 degree elbow configurations that connect to 4" and 6" National Pipe Thread (NPT). Each adapter includes three heavy duty stainless steel set screws.

The adapters are compliant with the DIN Standard and NFPA 1963 Standard for Fire Hose Connections. Forged aluminum connections provide for greater firefighter safety. Storz Lock Adapters and Storz Lock caps are available in turn key kits or individually.
